Sugarloaf Mountain is a mountainous peak found in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Sugarloaf mountain is found in the mouth of Guanabara Bay within a peninsula facing the Atlantic Ocean. The mountain has a height of 396 metres and its name comes from its resemblance to a concentrated refined loaf of sugar. Sugarloaf is just one of the many monolithic morros of granite and quartz found within Rio de Janeiro. There are many of these which make the landscape of the city breathtaking!
